Lasermo La
Lasermo La (sometimes spelled Lasimiru La) is a mountain pass situated at nearly 5,500 meters altitude. I arrived early on a Sunday morning, and parked my scooter at the roadhead of Murabak village, located at around 4,000 meters, approximately 45 minutes from Leh. This route is a popular entry point for trekking into Nubra Valley via Hunder Dok village.
The trail is open and exceptionally scenic, winding alongside a crystal-clear stream for premium hydration. After the pass, you’ll find a glacier.
While satellite images suggest this trail covered in snow, during my visit in early September, there were only a few patches of snow above 5,000 meters. The surrounding environment was lush and green, and the trail itself was clear and dry. However, after I finished my run, it started raining and the trekkers I met later told me there was too much snow to cross the pass a day after. It should be fine in a month with less rain.
It’s a truly beautiful run, but be prepared for a long day. Starting early in the morning is highly recommended.
